Being promoted means doing work and adding value in areas your not paid for, and doing tasks that are not in your job description. Trying to position yourself as the guy/girl who takes the credit for someone including your manager, isn’t the goal – and should never be the goal, even after your promotion. Everyone notices when someone helps another or their department. It’s always clear. Stay away from the idea that you need credit. It’s already given to you.
