If you add value only in the things you personally do – that makes you an employee. If you add value beyond yourself, and add it into others and the department, that is a sign of a leader. My point – help others and your department to grow. Do more than your job description and help others including staff above and below your pay grade to succeed. This is a sure way to position yourself for a promotion.
