Do you want to know what your real fill rate is? Have someone sit with a paper at the parts back counter for ½ a day and count what shop orders get filled and which don’t. I assure you that no matter what the results are, you’ll be surprised (filters and oil don’t count). Did you fulfill more than 85% of the service requests? How many customers went home and had to do a repeat visit? How many of those parts should have been in stock already? This is a study that will conclude the opportunities/problems within inventory. Real data which will determine what needs to be done. It’s an eye-opening experience for any dealer who tries it.
